Tourist Visitor Visa (V-1)

The V-1 visa is one of the most popular Canadian visas among foreigners. It is designed for those visiting Canada temporarily, without the intention of long-term stay.

This visa can also be used by individuals attending non-academic courses up to 24 weeks, as well as business meetings, conferences, and other professional events, valid until the visa’s expiration.

The Canadian consulate does not require applicants to attend an interview in person. However, all applicants must appear for the biometrics appointment.

Visitor Visa – (SX-1)

The SX-1 visa is a temporary study permit for students enrolling in courses lasting less than 24 weeks. Processing and issuance typically take around 15 days, and the visa’s validity aligns with the duration of your course.

To study in Canada, students must enroll in a program offered by a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) approved by the Canadian government, as only DLIs are authorized to accept international student applications.

A key requirement for obtaining the SX-1 visa is a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the institution where you plan to study.

Study Permit (S-1)

Individuals who want to pursue a course with a duration of more than 24 weeks need a study permit. The institution you wish to enrol in must be a DLI and provide you with the LOA.

eTA – Electronic Travel Authorization

An eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a visa-free entry requirement for foreign nationals traveling to Canada by air for tourism, business, or transit. It is available only to travelers who hold a valid U.S. visa.

The eTA is electronically linked to your passport and functions like a Canadian visa. It is valid for up to five years or until your passport expires. Since the eTA is tied to your passport, a new eTA must be obtained whenever you get a new passport.

With a valid eTA, you can visit Canada multiple times. However, approval at the border is not automatic—immigration authorities will review your passport and other documents to ensure you meet entry requirements.
